On Friday February 7th, youth and students from across the Triangle gathered for the pre-Moral March Youth and Student Power Party. The diversity of the gathering mirrored the diversity of the march itself. In attendance were youth from as far as Colorado that work on education justice issues, to local organizers from Greensboro who organize around police accountability to folks from Raleigh that work on environmental issues. During the Power Party we got to know each other and learn about each other’s organizations. We ate pizza, practiced chants and made signs for the march. We ended the party with a power circle where we got to see everyone’s FABULOUS dance moves. Thank you again to everyone who joined us! Mark your calendars for next years!
